Our MBC Assessment is a two day course for existing candidates that have already attended a MBC Training course and feel confident enough to return to be assessed. You will be expected to lead a delegated leg of a planned route, show evidence of your ability to introduce and layer complex coaching techniques, and demonstrate that you can safely operate and manage a group in unfamiliar terrain.
In order for this award to be valid once you’ve passed you will also need to hold a current two day (16 hour) outdoor first aid certificate, complete a daily risk assessment, and have appropriate insurance in place.
Lead a group of up to 6 people
Layer skills in a way that allows for progression through a session
Know how to navigate in unfamiliar territory
Confidently assess risk and plan for contingencies
Know how to work with additional members of staff
Confidently deal with emergencies on the hill
